The power of photoshop

Recently just taking up the initiative to learn the photoshop CS4 after looking forward to learn for so long. I found that it is quite tough to master the things especially when there are too many things to learn and try out. After playing around for a while and also watching some videos from the website. I found that the post process (PP) of the photos is also very important in certain way to enhance the presentation of the photos. Most importantly is the AWB is not that intelligent as compare to our eyes, by using our eyes we can set the temperature of the photo a.k.a white balance (WB) in more appropriate. Below are the 1st production of my PP. I kind of love them also.. :D

Short term assignment to Hai Nan(China)

After wishing and praying so hard, finally I got my first STA(short term assignment) to China. Initially I was being assigned to Guang Zhou, however I only stayed there for 2 days then being reassigned to Hai Kou(海口) of Hai Nan(海南) Island. Working over there was a good experience, it is a good chance to polish up my mandarin(普通话,白话). Below were some of the special terms and things I would like to share:

1. There is no receipt in China. They call it fa piao (发票) =.="

2. The taxi here will non stop horn their horn, don't freak out!!

3. In China they said wa kao(哇靠) while Taiwanese said wa sai(哇塞) and Bolehlander is the best and longest wa lao eh (哇老eh)

4. Chinese people like to say sha(啥)rather than shen me (什么)
Example: 关你啥事?!

5. Facebook, Youtube, blogspot, flcker all being banned in China to avoid internet spamming of their political riots(xin jiang lately and xi zang last time)

6. They were using the same discount as in HK drama. (一折=90%discount,二折=80%discount and so on...

7. They call the waiters/waitresses as fu wu yuan (服务员), DON'T call them xiao jie (小姐),this is the terms no good for them. Else you can opt to call them xiao mei(小妹) if you are old enough :p

8. They also like to use the word da(打)a lot.
Example: 打车、打的 (get a taxi)

9. They called buses in different way-gong jiao che(公交车)for big buses touring in the city, da ba(大巴)for the coach kind of buses.

Ok... This is the short update after so long... More photos and about this trip upcoming... stay tuned...

Coconut House+ Broga Hill

One of my friend said that my blog is bored and suggested the way as below to blog it out, pls do let me know whether this way better or not :p

On a special Saturday, a bunch of friends went to a restaurant called Coconut House at PJ. After the food...

And beers....

And shooting-'men'shooting

P/S: The steak is so so only... But my friend said that the pasta is nice and should try out the Pizza as the oven of the pizza is using the charcoal type... difficult to find in Malaysia... shit, only found out during I went to WC.... but it is too late...Someone pls go and try out the pizza and let me know..

We decided to climb a hill called Broga Hill nearby Semenyih on the next early morning in order to burn out all the high calories that we had consumed that day.
In the early morning, all of us missed out the torch light. As a results, I stepped on a big pool of mud water in the dark after a 2 mins walk. WTF...*!@$&^%$@#$#!

With the assist of the handphone's torch light and the moon light shine... Thank god to SE W8XX. Forgive me for not remembering the old phone model :p

TQ for the moonlight...

And there is a big damn and deep hole just beside the track with just a red thin line as caution. Watch out your steps...

Just before the sunrise.... Got cheated by someone, the sunrise here is nothing :S

And finally Thank God.. We had successfully climbed up the hill with a lot of lalang...

And now is show time of supermen after we proved ourself are still young and energetic even after the hiking (even it is just a very easy hiking)...

Not to forget to share the google map link of these 2 places..

Kuantan Bussiness Trip 8-11 April 09

Due to some emergency issue happened in a site at the Kuantan on Tuesday night, I had been assigned to go to site on the following day which is Wednesday. I also took this chance to visit some of the places in Kuantan but mainly still makan-makan around.

I went to lunch at a quite famous place called Kemaman Kopitiam and surprisingly a nasi lemak special with a quarter Ayam percik and a fried egg cost me about RM13.90 if i remembered correctly. The Teh ais cost me another RM2.50 with the special packaging coffebean copy-cat-to-be. Anyhow, I felt that it is more expensive then KL price but the food is just awesome with not so awesome price :D

Attached with some photo shooting on the hotel and also the beach photo. I did go to Teluk Chempedak, but sadly the rainy morning did not allow me to take any nice photo. Pls bear with me.... Ok, photo time....

Testing the stability of your iron hand..

I read in 1 of my favourites blogger's blog and found another new thing to test out for my camera skill. Yesterday I tested it out and found that I am quite bad in the stability of my hand. Out of so many snaps, only able to get 1 or 2 is good.
Don't worry, I will try to improve.Gambateh...

The test as below:
Set to manual mode and by adjusting the ISO and the F to bigger to get the Shuttle speed to 1 sec.
Get ready an analogue watch that will be ticking instead of the automatic analogue.
Shoot the watch and you should be able to get 2 second arm aka 秒针 without any blur image。

Perfect shot when using table as support

Finally my shoot successfully by holding with hand

This is the example of totally failed shot

1st Putrajaya Hot Air Balloon Fiesta 2009

Today I went to this event called "1st Putrajaya Hot Air Balloon Fiesta 2009" at presinct 2 near the famous governtment office block there.
It was a not bad experience as we seldom see any hot air balloon flying around in KL or Malaysia.
The main purpose was to shoot the photo of this hot air balloon as putrajaya is just 10 mins away from my office. Ended up have some extra experience to have a ride of this hot air balloon.
There are 2 balloons after all ballons flied away remain there to open to media for a free ride and photo shooting purpose. After all media went up, then I saw a lot of public aka photogs went up to test it out. Then, I also beh pai seh(not shy) to test it out even it is just few meters away from ground and also a 2 mins ride. It was a good experience though. I think this is possible on weekday which is today Thursday. If it is weekend, for sure the public will be crowded like sardin can.
Photo time and not to forget to include the official link of this event.
